Born Sunday, November 20, 1949 in East St. Louis, IL, he was the son of the late Stephen Hopkins and the late Mildred (Luntsford) Hopkins. He was the husband of the late Stella Elaine (Whitear) Hopkins.
He was a member of Vaughns Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian where he was an elder. He was also a member of the Gideons International and the APA.
He is survived by his sons, Justin Hopkins wife Leah Busch of Paducah, KY, Alex Hopkins wife Angela of Benton, KY; daughter, Terri Franklin husband Kelly of Calvert City, KY; brothers, Ed Hopkins of Glen Carbon, IL, Ron Hopkins wife Cindy of Collinsville, IL; grandchildren, Emily Beck husband Gordon, Nathaniel Hopkins wife Kaitlin, Ryan Busch, Katelyn Lofton husband Ethan, Brandon Hopkins fiance Brooke, Kyle Hopkins, Kelly Franklin wife Morgan, Blake Franklin fiance Annessa, Brett Bivens, Trinity Franklin, Christian Williams wife Mayra, Rayne Morehead, Aubriana Hopkins; and great grandchildren, Addisyn, Oakley, Iris, Vivian, Oliver, Journee, Adamari, Chloe, Madison, Tatum, Lilly, Isabella, Silas, Jaxson, Khloe, Alarick, Jordan and one on the way, Kelly V.
He was preceded in death by his parent and wife, Stella Hopkins.
A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Collier Funeral Chapel, located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025 with the Rev. Wendall Ordway and Rev. Jewell Barrett officiating.
Interment will follow in Fooks Cemetery, Benton, KY.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Collier Funeral Home.
