Monica Lynn Murphy, 42

Monica Lynn Murphy, age 42, of Arlington, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the University of Louisville Hospital.

Monica was born in Union City, Tennessee on February 13, 1980 to Franklin and Rozetta Murphy.  She was a homemaker and adoring mother.  She enjoyed catering events and was known for her abilities to not only cook dishes like broccoli and cauliflower salad and mashed potatoes, but serve any excess to those who were hungry or in need.  Monica loved gospel music and was an avid singer in church.  She was an avid University of Alabama fan and she loved to visit Gatlinburg, Tennessee.  Monica spent much of her time as a volunteer for Relay for Life and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

Monica will be remembered for her quick wit and her funny, social personality.  She was always social and she made sure everyone was taken care of before herself.

Monica is survived by three daughters, Cacy Elder of Bardwell, Cailee Elder of Bardwell and Kadie Elder of Arlington; her son, Bodie Holland of Arlington; her fiancé, Chad Holland of Arlington; her parents, Franklin Murphy, Sr. and Rozetta Stinson Murphy; her brother, Frankie Murphy (Sherry) of Bardwell; one granddaughter, Jacilyn Elder; three nephews Landon Brown, Michael (Chelsea) Galiano, and Christopher Galiano; one niece, Allyson (Justin) Harper; and a great-nephew and two great-nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington with Bro. Ronnie Stinson, Bro. Gaylon Bruer and Bro. Timmy Stinson officiating.  Burial will follow at Trace Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington.  Visitation will also be held from 10:00 am until the service time of 11:00 am on Friday, April 22, 2022.
