Born January 6, 1948 in Metropolis, Illinois, to the late Clifford and Martha (Slankard) Kennedy, he was a retired tire builder with the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Mr. Kennedy was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Erma (Schultz) Kennedy; two daughters, Vicki Layhew of Momence, Illinois, and Jessica Nichols of Benton, Kentucky; one sister, Marilyn (Jerry) Greenway, of Union City, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Shane Mrowicki, Ashley Ader, Adam Lahew, Noah Lecocq, Sawyer Nichols, and Liam Daholt; several great-grandchildren; and special friends, Bob Dueker and Beverly English.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Kennedy was preceded in death by several brothers.
A visitation will be conducted from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Saturday, April 16th, 2022 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West Fifth Street, Benton, Kentucky. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
