Dorothy was a devoted Christian who played the piano and sang in church. She raised six children and saw to it that they were all in church. Dorothy loved to laugh and have a good time. She shared the love of Jesus Christ by helping those in need.
She is survived by three daughters, Diana Downs Hill and husband Kenneth of Boaz, KY, Janice Downs Barnaby of Paducah, KY, Peggy Downs Pence and husband Jon of Ohio; one son, Roy Gene Downs and wife Peggy of Delaware; six grandsons and eight granddaughters; and many great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by Roy Downs, the father of her six children; her second husband, Cletus McDougal; and two of her children, Jerry Downs and Kathy Downs Gray.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West Fifth Street, Benton, KY with Brother Ronnie Stinson officiating. Interment will follow in Wilson Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Collier Funeral Home.
