Marshall County Public Library to host author Court Stevens

Award-winning Kentucky author Courtney “Court” Stevens will visit the Benton branch of the Marshall County Public Library on April 14 at 6 p.m. to discuss her newest young adult book, “We Were Kings.”

Stevens grew up in Bandana, Kentucky and is a former adjunct professor, youth minister, Olympic torchbearer, and bookseller at Parnassus Books in Nashville. Today, she writes coming-of-truth fiction and is the community outreach manager for Warren County Public Library in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

“I am excited to have Court Stevens come to our library,” said Teen Services Librarian Olivia Shelton. “Her new book is great, so you don’t want to miss this event. If you have not read her newest novel, or any of her other books, come check them out at one of our branches.”

Although the book is considered to be YA, all ages are invited to attend the free author event where Stevens will lead a book discussion and allow questions from attendees. Refreshments will be provided.

“As a Ballard county native, heading to Marshall county is almost like heading home,” Stevens said. “I’m so excited to share We Were Kings in western Kentucky!”

All three branches of the library have a copy of “We Were Kings” available for checkout.
