Fay Buckingham, 83, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at her home in West Paducah surrounded by family.
Fay was born on March 27, 1939 to Bill and Dessie Cornwell in Ragland, Kentucky. She was a member of Grace Valley Independent Baptist Church. Fay loved to spend her days sewing, cooking, gardening, and visiting her farm. She also loved animals, especially her dogs. Fay was a very giving person who never shied away from helping others in any way possible.
Fay is survived by her daughter, Rita Jo (Jack) Pierce of West Paducah, one brother, Thomas Fleet (Donna) Cornwell of Independence, Louisiana, her step grandchildren: Jason (Brenda) Pennington of Hermitage, Arkansas, Casey (Kim) Pierce of Covington, Louisiana, and Billie Joe Pierce of Denver, Colorado; her step great grandchildren: Sydney Kling, Jaci Pennington, Gyonna Pierce, and Giovanni Pierce; a special niece, Laura Kay Cornwell, and several other nieces and a nephew.
She is preceded in death by her late husband, Sonny Ray Buckingham, both of her parents, and one brother, Willie Paul Cornwell.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Chaplain Lola Alokan officiating. Burial will follow at the Palestine Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
