
Three games over Friday and Saturday began with a 5-3 loss at home against Massac County followed by two games in the McCracken County Early Bird Tournament on Saturday. In their first game against Carbondale, the Lady Marshals won 7-4 and lost 3-1 to #1 Daviess County in game two. They finish the first full week of the season at 3-2.
Friday against Massac County, the game was tied 1-1 at the end of four innings, the Lady Marshals run on a steal of home plate by Chevelle Henson and Massac County scoring on a solo home run by Jenkins. Massac County put two runs up in the top of the fifth on a double by Korte and brought in two more in the top of the sixth on a single by Willard to lead 5-1.
The Lady Marshals made a late charge in the bottom of the seventh, scoring two runs on singles by Anna Vasseur and Allicen Harris.
Dassing pitched the win for Massac County over seven innings striking out five while allowing 10 hits and three runs.

Against Carbondale on Saturday at McCracken County, a big 5-run top of the second inning for the Lady Marshals started with a double by Charley Pursley and single off the bat of Henson. Runs came across the plate on a single by Layla McDowell, a 2-run double by Darnall, steal of home by Darnall and RBI ground ball hit by Vasseur.
Carbondale scored two runs in the bottom of the second and one in the bottom of the fifth to cut the Lady Marshals lead to 5-3.
A 2-run top of the sixth added some cushion, both runs scoring on a single hit by Pursley. Carbondale added a final run in the bottom of the seventh on a 2-out single.
Tia Thorpe pitched the win in four and a third innings, allowing five hits and three runs. Darnall earned the save.

In the second game on Saturday against Lyon County, the two teams were scoreless through four innings with the Lady Marshals breaking through with a run in the top of the fifth scored by Pursley on an error. Daviess County took the lead in the bottom of the inning, scoring on a double by Annie Newman and RBI ground out by Makayla Rowan.
The Lady Panthers scored their final run in the bottom of the sixth on a lead-off home run by Jessie Daniels.
Raylee Roby earned the win from the circle, striking out 12 while allowing two hits and one run. The top ranked Lady Panthers lost to #2 McCracken County 8-0 on Friday and beat Goreville 9-0 on Saturday.
