
Several Overnight Arrests by MCSO
On March 21, 2022 at approximately 6:00 PM, Deputies were notified of a stolen vehicle which had been taken from Mayfield Road sometime after 12:00 PM on the same day. At approximately 8:30 PM, Deputies were notified by the owner of the stolen vehicle, that he had located his vehicle in the mobile home park at 365 Meacham Lane. Through investigating the vehicle, its contents, and interviewing witnesses in the area, Deputies were able to identify a suspect. Deputies also determined the suspect was inside a trailer at that location. Deputies interviewed the suspect, identified as Michael “Mike” Stansel Jr. age 36 of Paducah, KY. Subsequent to the investigation, Mr. Stansel was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property, a felony.
On March 21, 2022 at approximately 8:30 PM, Deputies were notified of an individual, later identified as John Wiley, age 41 of Ledbetter, KY, who had been causing problems at a local hospital and refusing to leave the premise. Mr. Wiley then walked across the street to a gas station, where he was asked to leave due to disturbing other customers. Mr. Wiley refused to leave and was placed under arrest for Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree.
On March 22, 2022 at approximately 2:00 AM, the same Deputy who had only a few hours prior arrested John Wiley at a local service station, was approached by Mr. Wiley after he was released from the jail. The Deputy was outside the McCracken County Jail and a Deputy Jailer came outside to assist the Deputy. The Deputy went inside the Sheriff’s Office and as he went back outside, he observed the Deputy Jailer detaining Mr. Wiley. The Deputy Jailer informed the Deputy Sheriff that Mr. Wiley had ran to the Deputy’s marked patrol vehicle and had been attempting to gain entry to the car, at which point the Deputy Jailer intervened. Mr. Wiley was manifestly under the influence and was acting even more erratically than when he was arrested earlier in the night. Mr. Wiley was again arrested and was this time charged with Public Intoxication.
On March 22, 2022 at approximately 2:00 AM, while Deputies were dealing with Mr. Wiley, Bobby Woodall, age 32 of Paducah, KY approached Deputies. Mr. Woodall was manifestly under the influence of unknown substances and was ranting incoherently. Mr. Woodall was placed under arrest for Public Intoxication.
While a Deputy was escorting Mr. Woodall into the McCracken County Jail, Mr. Woodall slipped free of his handcuffs and fled on foot from the jail towards the Jackson House. Deputies pursued Mr. Woodall on foot as he ran, while he was screaming and continuing to ramble incoherently. Deputies were able to take him in custody after a brief foot pursuit.
Mr. Woodall was again placed under arrest and charged additionally with Fleeing or Evading 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct 2nd Degree, and Escape 3rd Degree.
