Herbie was born in St. Louis, MO on August 26, 1954, to the late Herman Henry Knopfel, Sr., and Wanda (Jackson) Gregory. He was a handyman, a multi-talented tradesman. He attended Glendale Road Church of Christ.
Herbie is survived by his wife of 40 years, Donna Ann (Curtis) Knopfel of Murray, KY; children; Jeffery Allen Knopfel of Springfield, MO, Elizabeth Knopfel of Alton, MO, Amanda Williams, husband Casey of Murray, KY, Ashley Collins of Murray, KY and Joseph Curtis of Springfield, MO; caregiver to his nephew, Larry Joeallen Martin of Murray, KY; two brothers, Johnny Knopfel of St. Louis, MO and Robin Knopfel of St. Louis, MO; two sisters, Tina Knopfel of Cuba, MO and Jody Skaggs of Tom, OK; grandchildren, Paton, Katie, Zachary, Alice, Casey Jr., Jeffery Jr., Joel and Caleb.
Herbie was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda Martin.
A memorial service for Herbie will be held Friday, March 11, 2022, at 12:00 noon in the chapel of the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home with Gary Evans officiating.
Friends may visit with the family after 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022, until the service hour at 12:00 noon, at Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, 713 South 4th St., Murray, KY 42071.
