Jerry Franklin Hicks,74, of Benton, Kentucky passed away at 1:45 a.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Baptist Health Paducah. He was born on June 27, 1947 in Greenville, Tennessee to the late Carl Hicks and Opal Smith Hicks. Jerry was a retired thirty year employee of the Civil Service at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky as an Electrian.
He was very active in the community in Hopkinsville, Kentucky before retiring to Marshall County, Kentucky (Land Between the Lakes). Jerry was an Elder in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Boy Scout Master for thirteen years and a Little Leaque Coach for both his sons. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a Kentucky Colonel. Jerry loved hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Billie Brooks Hicks; two sons, Joe F. Hicks and wife, Kelly of Ocean Side, California and Jimmy H. Hicks and wife, Kathryn, of Crossville, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Sadie Brooke Hicks (fiance, Logan Adams) and James Cody Hicks all of Crossville, Tennessee.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville, Kentucky with Rev. Danny York officiating.
There will be no visitation.
