One of the most popular guests on WCBL’s Coffee Call program is Master Gardener Barbara Ray. She said now is the time to start making plans for your spring gardens and to buy your seeds early. She said it’s also important to get your soil tested and you can do that by taking a soil sample to the Marshall County Extension Office. And be sure your tools are clean and ready to go. Also, with Valentine’s Day almost here and many receiving fresh flowers, she says there are some tips to help your flowers last longer. Be sure to clean your vase or container thoroughly, change your water and you can add a little lemon-lime soda or a penny to your water to help your flowers stay fresher longer.
