Hyatt Humphrey, 91

Hyatt Humphrey, age 91, of Calvert City, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at his home.

He was born on March 14, 1930 in Kevil, Kentucky to the late, Herman Humphrey, Sr. and Effie Simmons Humphrey. He enjoyed boating and water skiing. He had a love for horses and was a long time sponsor of the West Marshall Riding Club. He was a member of Little Cypress Baptist Church and the Symsonia Masonic Lodge #917.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy Reeves Humphrey; three daughters, Mary Humphrey of Calvert City, Iva Humphrey of Nashville, TN, Anita Davenport (Mark) of Lone Oak; one son, Howard Humphrey of Calvert City; two sisters, Annette Ramage, Sue Hall; one brother, Herman Humphrey, Jr.; four grandchildren, Caroline Schank, Wesley Davenport, Laura Heiss, and Ellie Oliver; and six great-grandchildren, Gage Davenport, Cecilia Davenport, Rylie June Oliver, Sawyer Schank, Sterling Schank, and Creek Oliver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant son, Adron Humphrey; two sisters, Elizabeth Koerner and Marie Finney; and four brothers, Jim Humphrey, Hubert Humphrey, Murlin Humphrey, and Conn Lynn “Tinker” Humphrey.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr. Bro. Jeff Cox will officiate and burial will follow at Marshall County Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr.
