With games canceled due to the tornados Dec. 10, the Marshall County Special Olympics basketball Team 2 finally got to take the court in their first games of the season when they traveled to Murray to take on the Murray Rockets Blue Team in a double-header on Saturday.
In the first game, six of ten players shot well, anchored by 12 points from Jacob Dunn in their 30-11 win.
“First game of the season, I was pleased we had several to score” Coach Jonny Byrd said. “James Davio added six, brothers Aaron and Ryan Morrison had four each with George Navarre and Isaac Holland contributed two each.”
In the second game, Marshall County played well as a team with eight of 10 players scoring and won 36-12.
“We looked a little better but missed some layups and had some turnovers”, Byrd said. “We’ll work on that stuff in the coming weeks.”
The team was led by guard Hunter Morrison who had 10 points off the bench. Jacob Dunn and Isaac Holland had six points each. Aaron Morrison and George Navarre four points each and Ryan Morrison, James Davio and Dylan Morris finished with two points.
