Mr. Joe W. Dodson, age 78, of Mayfield passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at his residence.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Mayfield, KY, a retired employee of Continental General Tire and a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam.
Mr. Dodson is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joan Tucker Dodson; one son, Chris Dodson of Mayfield, KY; one daughter, Jan (Patrick) Spangler; and four grandchildren, Carter Dodson, Collins Dodson, Hudson Spangler and Houston Spangler.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Warren Dodson and his parents, Eden and Frances Burgess Dodson.
Funeral services for Mr. Joe W. Dodson will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Dr. Wes Fowler will officiate, Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery. American Legion Post # 26 will conduct graveside military rites.
Visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
