In their first home game since the Dec. 10 tornados ripped through the town of Mayfield, the Lady Cardinals hosted the Lady Marshals on Monday. It was a game more about the players from Mayfield High School resuming normal activity in their hometown, than it was the final score.

Three players in double-figures led the Lady Marshals in the 63-21 win and 11 players put points on the board. Skylar Waller’s 17 points led the way along with 16 by Halle Langhi and 14 from Jada Driver. Eighth grader, Lay Mayes, led Mayfield with six points.

Waller’s 14-point first quarter led the Lady Marshals to a 24-6 lead. Two of Driver’s four 3-pointers in the game came in the second quarter along with points from seven others to lead 46-11 at halftime.

A running clock in the second half cut the scoring numbers down – the Lady Marshals outscoring the Lady Cardinals 17-10.

A big double-header tonight at McCracken County (12-1) tips off at 6:00 with the girl’s game followed by the Marshals and the Mustangs (8-1) around 7:30.
