
James Robert Parks, age 69, of West Paducah, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at his home.
James (Bob or Robert to most) was born in Mesa, Arizona on Monday, March 24,1952 to Clyde and Mae Parks. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was incredibly honored and proud of his time serving on the USS Grenadier (SS-525). He was employed as a Civil Engineer during his working years. He was meticulous in his design work. Robert spent many hours reading and watching all things history. He shared his love of music, guitar, Harley Davidson motorcycles, a good steak, ATVs, and any projects that involved tools, with his children, family, and friends.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Sara Parks Wellman (Brad) of Frankfort, Kentucky; his sister, Carol Brown of Paducah; his brothers, Clyde Parks, Jr. (Janie) of Phoenix, Arizona and David Parks of Paducah; a brother-in-law, Gene Brown; his grandchildren, Garrett, Austin, and Eli Wellman; his nieces and nephews, Damon, Jeremy, and Daniel Brown, Amanda and Jarred Hack, and Chelsea Parks.
Robert was preceded in death by his son, John Thomas Parks; his parents, Clyde William Parks, Sr. and Mae Eathlyn Carr Parks; and his sister-in-law, Mitzie Parks. The deaths of these special people in his life left lasting scars on his heart.
Service will be held privately.
