Lady Marshals selected to represent United Elite Soccer Club

Lady Marshals selected to participate in the United Elite Soccer Club in Evansville, Ind. (L-R) Zoe Maxlow, Phoebe Ramsey, KC Fuller and Macy Scott.

Four Marshall County women’s soccer players have been selected to participate in their age group with United Elite Soccer Club out of Evansville, Indiana. United Elite competes at the highest level of ISL. This club is a member of the USYS Great Lakes Conference and competes at the Premier Level. Macy Scott(07), Phoebe Ramsey(06), Zoe Maxlow(05), and KC Fuller(04) will represent United Elite as they Travel to Indianapolis College Showcase November 19-21 where over 115 colleges and universities will be in attendance to recruit prospective collegiate athletes.

Macy Scott(07) will be starting her 3rd season with Elite. Coach Krissy Englebrecht, a University of Evansville standout, MVC(Missouri Valley Conference) Hall of Fame athlete, and previous USI Head Coach, said this of Scott; “Macy is the epitome of a team player. She works hard every day and is willing to do whatever it takes to make herself and her team better….all the while having a smile on her face. It is a blessing to have her on the 07’ team,” Likewise Macy says, “The best part of United is the support I have from my coaches. They work as hard as us to make us better. They want each one of us to meet our dreams and mine is to compete at the college level and I know they want me to be successful.”

Coach Krissy Coached the 03’ girls last year and has this to say about KC Fuller(04).”KC is a very talented and athletic soccer player. She can play any position in the attack and also brings a lot of speed and aggressiveness to the offense. Her skills and field vision add a lot of fire power to a very talented 03/04 United Elite team.” This year’s coach, Ben Dempsey says, “KC’s diversity and desire to be a team player give us more options across different positions.” Fuller, on her second season says this of United. “I am blessed to be teammates with standout players like Neomi Splittorff(Purdue),Cam LaGrange(WKU), Sierra Mullins(SMWC), Macy Happe(Depauw), Page Miller(Cincinnati), and Kennedy Neighbors(Indiana), The coaches focus on our development as individuals and how we can all use our skills to make the overall team better. This gives me a level of trust that allows me to give my best every practice and every game.”

Maxlow(05) is in her first year with the club. “My future plans are to play college soccer, hopefully D1. United will help with the exposure I need for that goal and develop me into a better player,” says Maxlow. Coach Scott Higgins, director of coaches, is also leading the 05’ women’s team. The staff is excited to see how Zoe’s speed on the outside attack will contribute to an extremely talented 05’ group.

Phoebe Ramsey(06) is in her second season with United as well and is coached by Chad Cole. Coach Cole won a NCAA Championship as a player for Wisconsin and went on to play professionally for two years. Coach Cole says this of Phoebe,”Phoebe is a great kid, hard worker, team player, and a tremendous talent. I am so happy to be Phoebe’s coach,” Phoebe is a standout goalie on the 06’ team, also stepping in to cover injuries on occasion for the 03’ and 05’ teams. “My favorite thing about playing with United is the atmosphere and the people. Everyday I am pushed to work as hard as I can. I have been blessed to play under such encouraging coaches and play with very talented teammates. My future plans are to play at a D1 college. This club allows me to get the exposure needed to pursue my dream of playing at the next level.”

United will participate in another showcase in January, followed by a short break in February, before they enter into league play and three other showcases this Spring.
