
Katherine Thomasson, 68, of Ledbetter, Kentucky passed away at 3:55 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2021 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center at Mercy Health Lourdes. She was born on May 4, 1953 in Fulton, Kentucky to the late Austin Stroud and Sarah Ellen Brooks Stroud. Katherine was a retired 911 Dispatcher. She was an EMT and an EMT Instructor. Katherine was a Paramedic and was the first female Paramedic in the state of Kentucky west of the lakes. She was a member of the Ledbetter Fire Department where she was a certified firefighter and instructor. Katherine served as president of the Kentucky EMT Instructor’s Association, was Chief of Social Services for McCracken County D.E.S. and a member of McCracken County Homemakers. She was a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church. Katherine received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Mid-Continent University.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Michael Earl Thomasson; daughter, Mika Thomasson of Louisville, Kentucky; son Paul Thomasson of Grand Rivers, Kentucky; brother, James Edward Stroud of Gleason, Tennessee.
Katherine was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Stroud and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
