Marshals shutout Massac County 8-0 in regular season finale

Saturday marked the regular season finale for the Marshals with an 8-0 shutout over Massac County to finish 15-2-2 on top of the 1st Region. They are perfect in games against regional opponents at 11-0 and also in district games at 8-0.

The Marshals currently rank eighth in the state in shutouts and goalkeeper Steven Claborn is second in complete game shutouts. They rank seventh in scoring margin, ninth in goals per game and 21st in goals allowed per game. KHSAA currently ranks them seventh in RPI standings. William Lynch is 13th in the state in scoring with 28 goals and 29th in assists with 14.

Saturday against Massac County, Lynch added to his scoring total with two goals along with two assists.  John Wood and Collin Riley had two goals each and Alex Shaverin and John Noles had one goal. Assists also went to Jackson Boone, Eric Hicks and Jericho Evans. Claborn had four saves.

Over their 19 games of the regular season, the Marshals have out scored opponents 102-23 including 10 shut outs.

The district tournament gets underway next week at Calloway County.
