Trey Wall, Camdyn McLeod qualify for KHSAA State Golf Championships

Trey Wall (left) and Camdyn McLeod qualified in Monday’s 1st Region Tournament for the KHSAA Golf State Championships next week at Bowling Green Country Club. The two tied for second place with 4-over par rounds of 76.

After three consecutive 1st Region team championships for Marshall County, this year that title goes to St. Mary, their first in nine years. The Vikings shot 314 led by senior Rocco Zakutney who shot an even par 72 to claim the individual title Monday at Paducah Country Club and a spot in the KHSAA Boys State Golf Tournament next week in Bowling Green.

The Marshals team score of 324 gave them fourth place behind the McCracken County and Trigg County teams that tied at 323.

Trey Wall and Camdyn McLeod both shot 4-over 76 to earn an individual spot in the State Tournament at Bowling Green Country Club. Following Wall and McLeod, the individual qualifiers are Ty Butts +5 (Trigg County), Hayden Reynolds +8 (Trigg County), Abe Dumas +8 (McCracken County), Tyler Dew +8 (McCracken County) and Cannon Ford +9 (McCracken County).
