Matthew Nugent, 58 of Gilbertsville, KY died on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at his residence.
Born Saturday, August 17, 1963 in Aurora, IL, he was the son of the late Robert Nugent and the late Martha Y. (Chaney) Nugent.
He was a flooring installer and a musician. He played the guitar and wrote several songs for the church writing mostly gospel and country music. He was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Karen (Lynch) Nugent of Gilbertsville, KY; sons, Chris Keeling of Benton, KY, Justin Keeling of Benton, KY; daughters, Amanda Nugent of Limon, CO, Amy Nugent of Limon, CO; brothers, James Nugent wife Imelda of Cowden, IL, Tom Nugent of Ina, IL, Mark Nugent wife Debbie of Shelbyville, IL; sisters, Linda Jones husband Gregory of Cowden, IL, Beth Hackney husband Ivan of Decatur, IL; mother in law, Jean Lynch of Gilbertsville, KY; grandchildren, Dalton and Kristina Keeling, Xander, Angel and Abigail.
A memorial service will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Spring Creek Baptist Church located at 995 Spring Road, Almo, KY 42020 with Bro. John Bedwell officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Spring Creek Baptist Church, 995 Spring Road, Almo, KY 42020.
