
With Thursday’s 5-0 win over Calloway County (0-2) the Lady Marshals are 3-0 in district games and all three have been shutouts. In their first five games they have out-scored opponents 20-4 – three of the four goals given up were in one game – the 3-1 loss to Owensboro Catholic.
Five different players scored against Calloway County starting with Kallen Fuller with the first goal on an assist by Janie Pagel less than seven minutes in. Presley Gallimore with her first goal of the season scored on an assist from Zoe Maxlow that gave the Lady Marshals a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Maxlow scored her fourth goal of the season on an assist from Peyton Lamb to put the Lady Marshals up four minutes into the second half. Kinsley Perry scored off an assist from Hanna Holsapple for the 4-0 lead and the fifth goal by Mia Teague finished off the 5-0 shutout.
The Lady Lakers had no shots on goal in the first half and two in the second half were scoped up by Parker Perry. Sunny Clark had 16 saves for Calloway and Grace Barnes had one after taking over for Clark who left late in the game with an injury.
Saturday they will host Henderson County in a JV-Varsity double-header getting underway at 4:00.
