Lady Marshals split games Saturday in the DC Classic

The Lady Marshals split games on Saturday in the DC Classic at Daviess County. They beat Boyle County 3-1 in the first game and fell 3-0 in game two to Owensboro Catholic.

Kelsey Crass put the Lady Marshals on the board with the first goal against Boyle County and goals by Janie Pagel and Hanna Holsapple put them up 3-0. Boyle County scored their only goal of the game in the  first half for 3-1 score at halftime which held up until the final whistle. Hope Howard recorded an assist and keeper Parker Perry had seven saves.

In their second game on Saturday, the Lady Marshals met the team that ended their state tournament run last season. They trailed 3-0 at halftime and were unable to find the net in the second half. The Lady Aces goals were scored by Madeline Hayden with two and Ashton Logsdon. Parker Perry came up with eight saves for the Lady Marshals while Lady Aces keeper Abby Payne had three.

This week, they will host Graves County (3-0) on Tuesday and play Calloway County at home on Thursday in a double-header with the Marshals.
