KY Lake Paddle Up set for August 21

Calvert City, KY – (August 2, 2021) – The KY Lake Paddle up is a family-friendly paddle event in partnership with the City of Calvert City, Kentucky Lake Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Tennessee RiverLine!

Join us Saturday, August 21 for a paddle on Kentucky Lake! Bring a kayak, canoe, or any other worthy paddle craft for a trip from Sledd Creek to Kentucky Dam Village Boat Ramp.

Beginning at 7:30 AM, meet at Kentucky Dam Village New Beach Pavilion (Old Paddle Boat Area) for a short safety overview then groups will be shuttled to Sledd Creek boat launch for a leisurely group paddle four miles downriver back to Kentucky Dam Village Boat Ramp. Expect to be on the water for 2-3 hours. Lunch will be provided to all pre- registered paddlers by Buns Out Hot Dog Cart and includes a free t-shirt. Pathway Baptist Church in Calvert City will provide the shuttle service.

For those who do not own a kayak but want to participate, 12 kayaks are available to reserve. Bring your own, or use one of the rentals for this fun-filled event on Kentucky Lake!

All paddlers are required to wear a life jacket and know how to swim.

Event Schedule:

Registration: 7:00AM – 7:30AM

Safety and Overview: 7:30 AM

Shuttle Service: 7:40 AM – 8:00 AM

Paddle Day Take-off: 8:00 AM

Door Prize Drawing: 11:00 AM

Lunch & Live Music: 10:30 AM -12:00 PM
