Lloyd Claytus Sills, 88

Lloyd Claytus Sills, 88, of Russellville, formerly of Hardin, Kentucky, died Monday, June 7, 2021, at Legacy Heights Nursing Home in Russellville. The son of Loyd and Dorothy (Rowlette) Sills, he was born May 5, 1933, near Dover, Tennessee.

Lloyd was a Union Electrician and proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union #700, Fort Smith, Arkansas, for 64 years. He was a member of the 5th & Greenwich Church of Christ where he shared in the preaching & teaching ministries of the church, and worked in various other leadership roles. He loved to hunt, fish and travel in his recreational vehicle (RV). He was a proud grower of tomatoes, with his largest tomato officially weighing 3.2 lbs. Rather than entering his prize fruit to the county fair, he enjoyed eating it!

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Wanda Sills; and his sister, Jeanette Chilton. He leaves a son, Randy Sills (Kayla) of Dover; three daughters: Jeannie Sides of Apopka, Florida, Marscia Sills of Memphis, Tennessee, and Karen Hartwick (Terry) of Russellville; his sister, Betty Jones of Humboldt, Tennessee; seven wonderful grandchildren, and twelve beloved great grandchildren.

A family visitation time is planned for Thursday, June 10, 6:00 – 8:00 PM, in Humphrey Funeral Chapel. Bro. Dan Lightfoot will share in a brief eulogy beginning at 7:30 PM.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 14, 1:00 PM, at Collier Funeral Home in Benton, Kentucky, with visitation Sunday, June 13, 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Collier Funeral Home, Gary Knuckles will conduct the services.

Burial will be at Pace Cemetery in Hardin, Kentucky.
