Marilyn “Moonie” Green Jones, 76 of Eddyville, KY died on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at the Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City, KY.
Born Sunday, June 3, 1945 in Paducah, KY, she was the daughter of the late Wallace Green and the late Mary (Harrison) Green.
She was a member of Glenns Chapel United Methodist Church and retired from the McCracken County Board of Education where she proudly served as the “kool-aid lady” for many years. Her red hair, piercing blue eyes, signature red lips with her unforgettable personality made her one of a kind.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Larry Jones; daughter, Le-Ann Phelps husband Lance of Benton, KY; son, Waid Jones (Donna Hobbs) of Calvert City, KY; brother, Waid Green of Springfield, TN; sister, Polly Poe of Benton, KY; and grandchildren, Emily Phelps, Ellie Phelps and Colton Hobbs
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Doug Green, Tommy Green, Eddie Green; and sister, Patsy Ethridge.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Glenns Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Daryl Thorn officiating.
Interment will be in Glenns Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery, Eddyville, KY.
