Mr. Wesley Oliver Kraay, 77, of Hardin, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at his home.
Mr. Kraay was born on January 20, 1944 in Kankakee, Illinois to John and Marjorie Kuipers Kraay. Wesley was widowed at an early age and lovingly raised their six children. He retired from UPS after 25 years of service, loved motorcyles, collecting coins and gardening and canning with his wife, Dianne. In addition, he had a love for antique cars and home architecture of the past. Though the two things he actually loved the most were his family and walking the shores in North Carolina searching for sharks teeth. Mr. Kraay loved people and it showed as he struck up a conversation with almost anyone. He was dearly loved and will be missed.
Those preceding him in death include his first wife, Shirley Kraay; his father, Mr. John Kraay; a son, John Kraay; a daughter, Victoria Lynn Kraay.
Those left to cherish many wonderful memories include his mother, Marjorie Kraay of IL; his wife, Dianne Kraay of Hardin; sons, Terry Kraay (Wendy) of Cadiz, Rick Kraay (LuAnn) of Watseka, IL, step sons, Chris Smith (Jennifer) of Fairbury, IL, Jeremiah Rogers of Santa Clarita, CA, Dustin Rogers of Santa Clarita, CA; daughters, LeAnne Robinson (Bill) of Gilman, IL, Shelia Kraay (Cary Weiner) of Sheldon, IL; step daughter, Jennifer Rogers (Kehani Casimir) of Santa Clarita, CA; brothers, Jim Kraay (Patricia) of Hardin, Paul Kraay (Stacy) of Cisne, IL; 12 grandchildren;14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
