Track and field hosted a meet on a rainy Tuesday evening and celebrated Senior Night. Before Marshall County recognized their 14 seniors, the seniors from Fort Campbell and Caldwell County were introduced.

With a few athletes resting and both teams not at full strength, the Marshall County girls took the win and the boys’ team placed third in the final meet before they host the Region 1 Championships on Wednesday.

Despite the rainy conditions, many MCHS athletes set new PR’s.

Nine first place finishes were recorded by the girls’ team. Sophie Galloway was a triple winner in the 100 meter hurdles (14.45), 200 meters (25.63) and triple jump (41-3.25). Leah Vincek crossed the line first in the 400 meters (1:04.13) and Kaylee Blackford in the 300 meter hurdles (54.43). More field event wins came from Laney Evans in the pole vault (9-6), Phoebe Ramsey in shot (29-8.5), Maci Brown in discus (101-10) and Audrey Grace Brown in turbo javelin (66-9).

Four earned top finishes for the boys’ team – Jett Sealock in the 800 meters (2:14.07), Chase Thompson in shot (49-2.50), Ben Fiser in discus (135.9) and Tyler Clapp in the middle school 300 meter high hurdles (52.02).
