The Kentucky Western Zone Skeet shoot was held at the Calvert City Gun Club last weekend. Thirty three shooters from four states participated.
The doubles event was held Friday afternoon with Barkley Lister from Somerset, Ky. winning the event with a 98/100 and Ken Ford of Sharpe runner up. Saturday the shooters shot in pouring down rain all day for the 12 and 20g events. The 12g event was won by Don Donnelly from Clarksville, Tenn. with a 98/100 after a tie breaker shoot off with Barry Stevenson of Calvert City, Ken Ford and Larry Israel from Fort Thomas, Ky. The 20g event was won by Barkley Lister with the only perfect 100 of the weekend.
Sunday nice weather returned and Keith Brummitt of Benton was the winner of the 28g event with a 98/100 and Andy Amhrein of Louisville, Ky. was runner up. The 410 event was won by Michael Schlarman of Crittenden, Ky with 98/100 after a tie breaker shoot off with Barry Stevenson. The High Overall Winner was Michael Schlarman 388/400 who won a tie breaker shootoff with Barkley Lister.
