Eastbound Work Zone on Interstate 24 Cypress Creek Bridge at 27.5mm in Marshall County starts Monday, May 3

Joint and bridge maintenance work to take about 2 weeks to complete

PADUCAH, KY (April 28, 2021)  A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans an eastbound work zone lane restriction on Interstate 24 in Marshall County starting Monday, May 3, 2021.

This eastbound work zone lane restriction along I-24 between the U.S. 62 Calvert City Exit 27 Interchange and the I-24 Tennessee River Bridge is to allow joint replacement and preventative maintenance work on the Cypress Creek Bridge at mile point 27.573.

Eastbound traffic in this work zone will initially move to the left-hand or passing lane. Eastbound motorists should be alert for slowing and merging traffic as they pass Exit 27.

Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

The contractor will attempt to provide timely notice when there are changes in the work zone configuration.  This work on the eastbound Cypress Creed Bridge is expected to take about 2 weeks to complete, weather permitting.   The contractor then plans to move to the westbound bridge at this location.

Judy C. Harp Company, Inc, is the prime contractor on this $876,000 group project that includes joint and maintenance work on several other bridges along this section of I-24 during this construction season.
