Redden, Wyatt win Region 1 High School Fishing Tournament

The KHSAA Region I High School Fishing Tournament was held Saturday out of Kuttawa Harbor Marina on Lake Barkley and the 2021 champions crowned are Marshall County’s Ty Redden and Clayton Wyatt with their five-fish catch of 17 lbs. 13 ozs. They will move on to the KHSAA State Fishing Tournament along with the Marshall County team of Sam Mann and Harlan Thomas. Mann and Thomas boated 12-13 to finish in the top 20 state qualifiers at 12th.

The state tournament will be held on May 7-8 at Kentucky Dam Marina. Weigh-in at 3:00 p.m. each day. It’s the first time since 2018 that the Marshall County anglers have qualified teams for the state tournament. That year three teams advanced and the team of Tristan Barrett and Evan Bremmerkamp went on to take the state title.
