Janie Marie Scott Peas, 70, of Paducah, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.
Janie was a retired teacher throughout the area. Janie was musically gifted. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing, dancing, and played in different praise bands. Janie was a devout Christian who loved her Savior. She loved her family, especially spending time with her grandkids. Janie enjoyed spending time traveling and loved music. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Janie is survived by her significant other, Danny Steger; two children, Adam Christopher Scott (Chelsea) Clark and Melanie Catherine Shealynn (Lynn) Stewart; three siblings, Phillip Scott, Ken (Paula) Scott, and Dan (Vickie) Scott; three grandchildren, Dominik Green, Marcus Clark, and Abigail Clark; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Janie in death are her parents, Maurice and Modelle Scott, and one brother, Robert Scott.
Funeral services with Janie will be held Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 11:00 am at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Bro. Wes Conner and Bro. Jewell Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Friends may visit the family from 10:00 am to service hour Saturday.
