DRAFFENVILLE – They missed the spring 2020 season when the pandemic shut things down, but are now back on the new tennis courts at Marshall County High School with matches getting underway this week. Host to three home matches in the opening week of the 2021 season – Monday against Calloway County, Tuesday with St. Mary and Thursday they took on Paducah Tilghman.
Both teams started the season 2-0 after sweeping Calloway County and St. Mary. Against an always strong Tilghman team on Thursday, before a few matches were cut short due to rain – the girls lost 6-0 and the boys lost 8-0.
Against Calloway County in the first match of the season, the girls won 6-3, the boys 8-1 and they followed that up on Tuesday with a girls and boys shutout over St. Mary – 6-0 for the girls and 3-0 for the boys.
Their next matches will be at Murray on Monday and at Mayfield on Thursday.
