Winona Riney Abanathy, age 90, of Paducah, KY passed away at 7:31 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2021 at her residence. Winona was a member of the Schneidman Road Baptist Church. She was one of twelve children and a native of Arkansas. Winona formerly worked at the Shirt Factory and Paducah Day Nursey and was a homemaker. Winona hobbies included sewing, traveling, fishing and swimming.
Survivors include one daughter, Susan Diana Abanathy, Paducah; daughter-in-law, Debbie Abanathy, Gilbertsville, KY; two sisters, Ruby Adams, Ellisville, MO, Mary Denning, Corning, ARK; one brother, Willie Ray Riney, Walnut Ridge, ARK; five grandchildren, Patrick (Elizabeth) Abanathy, Jennifer (Kevin) Rude, Melissa (Les) Burke, David Carper, Jacob Abanathy; three great-grandchildren, Jonathan Rude, Charlie Rude and Emma Burke; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death was her husband, Thomas Earl Abanathy; one son, Rickie Abanathy; one daughter, Mona Ellen Downs; four sisters and four brothers.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2021 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Moynahan officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home..
