Described as a fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong – pickleball has swept the nation as well as our local area with established groups playing for a few years now. It can be played indoor or outdoor and as singles or doubles.

Calvert City pickleball members competed this past weekend in the Curtis L. Brown  SEMO’s Chemo Smash at the Cape Girardeau Sportsplex. With 358 players, it was the largest pickleball tournament ever held in Missouri. Proceeds from the tournament go to Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine Siteman Cancer Center.

The Calvert City pickleball group has been playing since spring of 2016.
