Mr. Benny Ray Shelton, age 81, of Mayfield passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, KY.
He was a member and Deacon of First Baptist Church, a Boy Scout Troop leader, a hunting guide for K-T Clay, a Little League Baseball and Softball coach, and an assistant football coach. Benny loved to hunt and fish. He was also a retired employee of Kentucky-Tennessee Clay with 45 years of service.
Mr. Shelton is survived by his wife, Paula Shelton; two daughters, Jan Shelton of Reidland, KY and Jill (Kenneth) Williams of Mayfield, KY; one daughter-in-law, Elisha Shelton Richardson of Paducah, KY; one brother, Reggie Shelton of Mayfield, KY; one sister, Lisa Shelton of Texas; two grandchildren, Tucker (Tori) Williams and Courtney Williams; and one great grandchild, Kenna Williams.
He was preceded in death by one son, Mark Jason Shelton and his parents, Clifton “Pappy” and Norma Shelton.
Graveside services for Mr. Benny Ray Shelton will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Dublin Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Wes Fowler will officiate. Interment will follow.
Pallbearers will be Randy Henson, Kenneth Williams, Tucker Williams, Scott York, Tucker York, Ben York and Daniel Jameson.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.
