Ray Jones, 94

Mr. Ray H. Jones passed away at Mayfield Health & Rehabilitation on Feb. 16, 2021. He celebrated his 94th birthday in January.

Mr. Jones served in the military during World War II as a truck driver and mechanic. He worked as a lineman for West Kentucky Rural Telephone for 34 years. He was a member at Farmington Church of Christ, where he served as an elder for many years.
He loved being outside, working in his garden, tinkering with the lawn mower, and spending time with family.

Mr. Jones is survived by his two daughters, Debbie (Randy) Smith of Mayfield, and Sandy (Shane) McEndree of Farmington; one sister, Faye Rogers of Mayfield; one brother, Jim Jones of Dunnellon, Fla.; two grandchildren, Kelly (Will) Locker of Benton, and Jessica (David) Jeffress of Murray; four great-grandchildren, Emma and Darcy Locker of Benton, and Sagan and Nolan Jeffress of Murray; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara and his parents Randolph and Mamie Jones.

Funeral services for Mr. Ray H. Jones will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Jerry Mayes and Stan Colley will officiate. Andy Bennett, Ed Cavitt, Bob Cavitt, John Miller, Brad Miller, and Steve McNutt will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at Farmington Cemetery.

Visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
