Frieda Smothers, 89

Frieda Geneva Smothers, age 89, passed away on Friday, February 05, 2021 at Madisonville Health and Rehab. Geneva was a homemaker and a member of Kuttawa First Baptist Church.

Geneva is survived by one brother, Carl Robinson of Chesterton, IN; one granddaughter, Alicia Childress (Todd) of Maynard, AR; three great-grandchildren, Noah Coomer, Charlie Sharratt and Sarah Coomer; one great-great-grandchild, Cooper Reed Sharratt; several nieces and nephews; her special friends Lynn “Aggie” Lamb and Jessica Traylor; two step-daughters, Patricia Robertson and Bonnie Herrin, both of Tennessee; one step-son, Ray Smothers of Tennessee;

Geneva is preceded in death by her parents, Oda Weightman Robinson Wilkerson and Herschell Robinson; husband James H. Smothers; one daughter, Linda Bryant; one granddaughter, Katrina Coomer; two sisters, Laura McElhaney and Carol Winters; one half-sister, Mary Robinson White; three brothers, Amos Robinson, Robert Robinson and William Robinson; one half-brother, Howard Robinson; and one step-daughter, Diane Trimmer

Visitation for Geneva Smothers will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville.

Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, with Bro. Mitch Coomer officiating. Burial will follow in Doom Chapel Cemetery in Kuttawa.
