Christian Fellowship sweeps doubleheader over CCA

Gracie Howard led the Lady Eagles with 24 points and Andrew Dunning was the top scorer for the Eagles with 28 in Saturday’s wins over CCA. 

Christian Fellowship’s Lady Eagles won 59-30 and the Eagles 85-68 to sweep Saturday’s doubleheader at Community Christian.

The Lady Eagles set the tone with their win, led by freshman Gracie Howard with 24 points and 16 from sophomore Lillian Burnett. Howard made 15 trips to the free throw line, dropping in 13 of those. Jayden Jackson was 6/6 and Burnett 4/6 for the team’s season high 80% at the line. Burnett led in rebounds with 11 and Jackson pulled in nine.

The Eagles improved to 12-5 with their 85-68 win over CCA. This was their third win this season over the Warriors, led by sophomore Andrew Dunning’s 28 points. Dunning earned his fourth double-double of the season with 13 rebounds, he was 4/6 from 3-point range and a perfect 4/4 at the free throw line. Seventh grader Elijah Grigg scored 21 and was 6/8 at the line. Eli Paxton led CCA with 19 points.

CFS currently ranks sixth in 1st Region KHSAA RPI standings.

Weather permitting, CFS is scheduled to play another doubleheader at Hickman County (7-8) on Tuesday. The Falcons beat St. Mary 62-60 on Saturday.
