Donald Gene Prince, 78, of Bardwell, Kentucky died on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Countryside Center.
Gene attended Faith Baptist Church in Wickliffe and was retired from Illinois Central Railroad. In 1987, he opened Prince Pit BBQ in Bardwell, which is now in its third generation with a second location in Barlow. After his retirement, he and his wife, Judy, owned and operated “The Hut” in Bardwell for 17 years.
Gene is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy Prince of Bardwell; one daughter, Kate Prince of Paducah; and two grandsons, Alex Prince of Bardwell and Seth Prince of Murray.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Prince, and three brothers: Billie Welton Prince, Curtis Lee Prince, and his twin, Ronald Gene Prince. His parents were Charlie Gilbert and Mabel Lee Kirby Prince.
A family graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 3 at 2:00 p.m. at Salem Cemetery in Fulgham, KY with Bro. Billie Prince officiating.
