Lyons take down Graves and Calloway, remain undefeated

Lyon County remains unbeaten at 8-0 after the 2nd Region favorite knocked off two 1st Region teams –  Graves County 65-60 on Friday and Calloway County 81-65 on Saturday.

Freshman Travis Perry led in the win over Graves County with 23 points and 35 against Calloway County.

On Friday against Graves County, the game was tied at 32 at halftime and the Eagles held a three point lead going into the fourth quarter but the Lyons out-scored them in the final frame by eight points for the five point win.

Graves County was led in scoring by Drew Thompson with 26. A transfer, Thompson was ruled eligible to play on Friday along with transfer Markus Isaiah who had nine points and also became eligible on Friday.

Lyon County’s early 29-11 first quarter lead against Calloway County on Saturday proved too much to overcome for the Lakers. They held a 14 point lead at halftime and led by 20 at the end of the third quarter to cruise to the 81-65 win.

Behinds Perry’s 35 points, Gunner Bingham had 14 and Jackson Shoulders 12. Matthew Ray led the Lakers with 21 points and Zach Hudgin scored 16.

Lyon County will host Livingston Central (1-5) at home on Monday.
