Conner’s 25 points leads Lady Marshals over Ohio County

Cayson Conner dropped in this shot over Paducah Tilghman’s Natalie Warren (35) on Friday. She scored 25 to lead the Lady Marshals in Saturday’s win over Ohio County.

The Lady Marshals improve to 6-1 after Saturday’s 66-41 win at Ohio County. Like many throughout the state, the 3rd Region has been hit with many COVID-19 cancellations and the Lady Eagles, who drop to 3-2, have lost five of their first 10 games to COVID protocols.

Cayson Conner led the Lady Marshals in the win with 25 points, 14 of those coming in the first quarter. Sophie Galloway scored 16 and Presley Jezik added 11. Rain Embry led Ohio County with 13 followed by 12 from Kelsey Kennedy.

Jezik was three for six from beyond the arc, Galloway pulled in eight rebounds and as a team, the Lady Marshals were just over 50 percent from the stripe going 6/11 at the line.

Through their first seven games, Conner leads all Lady Marshals with 110 points followed by Halle Langhi with 78 and Jada Driver with 74.

The Lady Marshals will host the undefeated Graves County Lady Eagles (8-0) on Friday under first-year Head Coach Lyndon Dunning, former Marshall County boys’ assistant.
