
Lyon County’s Travis Perry, a 6’2″ point guard, has played varsity basketball for the Lyons since the seventh grade. Now a freshman and considered a top prospect in the Class of 2024, Perry has scored 78 points in the Lyons first three games of the season to lead them to their first 3-0 start in four seasons.
They opened the season on Jan. 5 with a 78-57 win over Crittenden County, beat CCA 82-28 on Jan. 7 and on Friday, took down Webster County 71-54. Behind Travis’ 78 points, fellow freshman Brady Shoulders has 40 points in the first three wins followed by junior Jackson Shoulders with 36.
The Lyons finished 23-10 last season, won the 5th District Tournament before falling to Webster County in the 2nd Region Tournament semi-finals.
Tuesday they will play University Heights at home in the 2nd Region All “A” Classic at 7:00. After an 0-2 start with losses to Paducah Tilghman and Owensboro Catholic, the UHA Blazers beat Marshall County 77-68 on Saturday to pick up their first win.

Off to a 1-1 start, the Lady Lyons lost their season opener 54-41 to Crittenden County and followed that up with a win over Union County, 64-55. Senior Calista Collins has led them in scoring with a combined 36 points over the first two games.
The Lady Lyons will play Livingston Central at home on Monday in the 2nd Region All “A” Classic.
