Laneda Turner, 81

Laneda Kay Turner, 81, of Benton, KY passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Laneda was born on October 30, 1939 in Marshall County, KY to the late Joe Lawrence and Eudella Penney Woods. On May 28, 1955, she married the love of her life, Raymond Lee Turner. From that moment on, the two of them started their journey through life together and were happily married for 65 years. Laneda and Ray enjoyed doing things together as a couple, everything from traveling and taking cruises to owning and operating Neda’s Beauty Shop and Ray’s Barber Shop for almost 40 years. She loved going hunting, fishing and camping at Energy Lake with her husband. She also loved to collect dolls in her spare time and throughout the years built up a very large and impressive collection. Laneda was a member of Hamlet Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Lee Turner; two daughters, Pat Gold (Bob) of Benton, KY and Lana Irvan (Randy) of Benton, KY; two grandchildren, Beth Colson (Jamie) and Brian Gold (Amanda); four great grandchildren, Owen Colson, Noah Colson, Landri Gold, and Cullen Wilson; two sisters, Janice Gaines and Jody Bratcher both of Benton, KY; two brothers, Bobby Woods (Linda) and William Woods (Benetta) both of Benton, KY; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one infant son, Jimmy Ray Turner; one sister, Alice Bryant; one grandchild, Jamie Irvan; one brother in law, Paul Gaines; and her parents.

Arrangements are being handled by Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home with Bro. Jack Studie officiating and burial will follow at Dunn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home.
