Jason T. Shockley, age 48, of Possum Trot, KY passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at his home after a year-long battle with cancer. He was a retired concrete truck driver for Federal Materials and U.S. Army veteran.
Jason was born on November 28, 1972 in Alton, IL and moved to Eddyville, KY at the age of six where he lived until he enlisted in the Army in 1991 and served for four years. After 9/11 Jason bravely reenlisted and served another seven years. His time in the Army led him to several places in the U.S. as well as many countries. Two of his long term posts included Korea and Iraq.
Jason was an avid golfer. It was by far his favorite pastime and he spent every chance he had on the golf course. Everyone who knew Jason, knew that his sense of humor was his greatest attribute. He had such a quick wit and really enjoyed making people laugh.
Jason is survived by his wife, Stephanie Collins Shockley, Possum Trot, KY; two sons, Kent Shockley, Kuttawa, KY and Quinton Shockley, Princeton, KY; one daughter, Koviana Shockley, Possum Trot, KY; his mother, Jenette Duff Shockley, Kuttawa, KY; one sister, Lynette Fowler-Tippin & husband, Rick, Eddyville, KY; one brother Keven Shockley & wife, Brooke, Clarksville, TN; three nieces, Hillary Fowler, Kelcey Fowler and Mia Shockley; two nephews, Kyle Fowler and Gaven Shockley; three great-nieces, one great-nephew and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Terrell “Terry” Lynn Shockley, his grandparents, T.C. and Pearl Duff and William and Wilma Shockley.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 26, 2020 from 4 to 8 PM at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville, KY. Funeral services will be Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Bro. Carl Nelson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Rolling Hills Cemetery in Eddyville, KY.
