Donald E. Travis, 90, of Benton passed away on December 6, 2020 at Essex Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Louisville.

Donald was born on September 1, 1930 in Marshall County, KY to the late Lowell and Ola Ross Travis. He was a successful business man and was the co-owner of Radio Service Center. He worked there until he retired at the age of 50. Upon his retirement, he loved to camp and fish. He loved to be the fix-all person and was always taking things apart and putting them back together. He was a long time member and Deacon at First Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years. He became a Mason in February of 1954 where he was an active member until his hearing loss interfered.

He leaves behind his daughter, Dana Kay Spears and husband, Jimmy of Benton; granddaughter Tiffinie Lovett and husband, Chris of Benton; grandsons, Ryan Travis of McKinney, TX and Michael Travis of Benton; great-grandchildren, Andrew Lovett of Benton, Thad Travis of McKinney, TX, Max Travis of McKinney, TX, and Marley Travis of Benton; and his sister, Anna Lou Collins of Benton.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Sadie Mae Farmer Travis; his son, Dennis Travis; a grandson, Ken Spears; two sisters, Mavis Duncan and Mildred Proctor; one brother, Charles Travis; and his parents.

His life’s journey on earth is over, but he is rejoicing and with his Savior!

Arrangements are being handled by Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr.
