Mark Hendrickson, 66

Mark Hendrickson, 66, of Benton, KY passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Baptist Health Paducah.

Mark was born on December 16, 1953  in Benton, KY to the late Louis and Frances Myers Hendrickson. On February 23, 1985 he married Phyllis Bogard Hendrickson, the two of them set out on their journey together and spent 35 years happily married to each other.  He was a retired truck driver, most recently working for Trimac Transportation, and was known by many of his fellow truck drivers and even some close friends by his handle, “Road Ranger”. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Hardin Church of Christ.

Mark was a simple man, who believed that you didn’t have to have a lot of things in life in order to be happy. He loved waking up in the morning, grabbing his fishing pole and heading down to the lake to try to catch some fish. He also just loved to be outdoors, whether that meant he was riding in the creek or just simply being outside at his camper by the lake, he found happiness by spending most of his time on all of these simpler things in life that were right out his front door. He enjoyed watching UK basketball games and it was not uncommon to catch him wearing around one of his UK basketball shirts. Above all else, he loved his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids who he always loved to spend his time with. His dog, Darby, held a special place in his heart and was always treated like his baby.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Phyllis Bogard Hendrickson; two daughters, Krystal Denfip and husband Jason of GIlbertsville, KY, and Keri Jean McKenty and husband Billy of Benton, KY; one son, Jerry McCuiston of Murray, KY; one sister, Cena Scott of Nashville, TN; one brother, Mitch Hendrickson and wife Jocille of Benton, KY; seven grandchildren, Carson Denfip, Kaylin Denfip, Terri Green, Scott McKenty, Shane McKenty, Taylor McCuiston, and Peyton McCuiston; and four great grandchildren, Chaney Green, Adalynn Green, Jack Green, and Nathaniel McKenty.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
