The State Commander of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars, Gary Smethers joined us recently on WCBL’s Coffee Call program. He provided an update on the new van to transport veterans for medical care, saying thanks to the generosity of the community the van has been purchased and is now being customized and made wheel chair accessible and should be in operation early next year. Smethers also said the Veteran’s Day Program will be on Veteran’s Day, Wednesday, November 11 at 11am at the Veteran’s Honor Plaza at Mike Miller Park in Draffenville.
