Shelia Hopkins Hickerson, 71, of Benton, KY passed away on September 8, 2020 at Mercy Health Lourdes in Paducah, KY.
Shelia was born on Friday, October 22, 1948 in Mayfield, KY, to the late Walter and Helen Hopkins. On January 21, 1967 Shelia married the love of her life, the late Frankie W. Hickerson. The two of them were blessed with one daughter and 52 wonderful years of marriage. Not only was she a loving wife and mother, she was also a hard worker, and spent years working for the Florsheim Shoe Factory. During her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading, and cooking. She was a member of New Testament Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Johnna Hickerson of Benton, KY; one sister, Sherry Jones of Temple Hills, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frankie Hickerson; two sisters, Sharon Hopkins and Cynthia Hopkins; one brother, James D. Hopkins; and her parents.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 14th, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at New Testament Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Logsdon officiating.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2020 at New Testament Baptist Church.
