Marshall County’s Camdyn McLeod and St. Mary’s Payton Purvis both shot 1-under par 71’s in Saturday’s Marshall County Invitational to finish tied for first place. St. Mary edged the Marshals by one stroke to take the team title, finishing with 309 (+21).
Marshall County entered two teams into the tournament, the Blue team took second with a score of 310 (+22). Behind McLeod’s 71, Trey Wall finished with a 1-over 73, David Jack Morris 82, Hayden Powell 84 and Preston Futrell 85.
Marshall County Orange finished ninth at 347 (+59), with team scores coming from Ryan Stokes with 84, Tate Scillion 86, Ethan Morgan 87 and Drake Butler 90.
Scores making up the win for St. Mary, behind the 71 shot by Purvis came from Rocco Zakutney 78, Palmer Sims 79 and Cade Fleming and Luke Wilson both shot 80.
The Marshals will play next on Saturday in the Bowling Green Invitational at Bowling Green Country Club.
